Welcome to the June edition of Loyaltee News
Despite taking a while to get going, summer is now here and we’ve recently been spoiled with some glorious sunshine and high temperatures. Even the Bank Holiday weekends have provided some much-needed BBQ weather, whereas they are normally guaranteed wash-outs! Now that the golf season is in full flow, why not consider taking advantage of our popular Loyaltee 1 Month membership. Giving you unlimited access to both courses, yet with the flexibility to cancel at any time, it’s perfect for you fairweather golfers out there! We’ll even refund your green fee if you join on the same day. Find out more here.
Golf course update
I am really pleased with the progress we are making with the courses – we have significantly raised the bar in recent years and the Prince’s and Duke’s courses have never been better, in terms of quality and presentation. This is backed up by the overwhelming positive feedback we regularly receive from golfers, who are obviously enjoying the overall experience. Check out the June Head Greenkeepers’ Blog here and find out more about what Ross and his team have been up to, plus what’s planned in June.
We’re pleased to confirm that the Duke’s Course is playing host the Men’s Regional Final of the UK Public Course Championships on 5th July, with the winner qualifying to play in the National Final at St Andrews in September. Our greenkeeping team will be showcasing our usual high standards for this prestigious NAPGC event.
Top marks for catering
While we have been making significant gains with the courses, we have also been working hard to improve our catering service. This has included a new menu and an investment into additional catering personnel and vocational training. These efforts seem to be paying off – a mystery diner visit (carried out by an interdependent assessor) during the recent Bank Holiday weekend awarded us 98% for the overall experience, with notably positive feedback about the quality of food, customer service and facility presentation.
We will soon be opening a brand new and improved CaddySnack service. This will replace the existing catering buggy that operates from the halfway point on both courses. We are in the process of building a permanent hut in the same location, serving a range of refreshments including chilled beers and hot food. The new CaddySnack will also host summer BBQs and is scheduled to open late June/early July.
Golf Academy relaunch
We are also planning to relaunch the Golf Academy in the forthcoming weeks, with the arrival of two new golf coaches. The new recruits will join Stuart Hill and Chris Benians to help develop a bigger range of coaching activities and programmes, focusing on beginner and junior coaching. What’s more, we’ll also be introducing a new range of group coaching sessions, including ladies, seniors and juniors. More information will be published shortly, so watch this space!
Watch the World Cup in our stunning surroundings
The Russia World Cup kicks off this week, with the excitement building towards the first England game on Monday 18th June. Look out for our fun World Cup Stamp Card promotion – complete the ‘dream XI’ and win a month’s free membership! Click here to find out more. Don’t forget you can watch all the games live in our clubhouse. We will also be showing selected games on our new 120″ outdoor screen on the island – what a perfect setting to enjoy the football while soaking up some rays!
Your invitation to golf’s hottest event!
This year’s summer solstice is also fast approaching – we’ll be celebrating the longest day of the year with a special Sunchaser event held on Friday 22nd June. Our Sunchaser deal has proved to be extremely popular and it’s easy to see why – golfers can enjoy a free rental buggy with every two twilight green fees (Loyaltee 12 Month and 1 Month members get half-price rental). On 22nd June, we’ll not only be offering our Sunchaser deal from the earlier time of 1pm, but you can also take advantage of reduced green fees all day. A smokin’ BBQ and Gin Tasting event will be taking place on the island. Click here to find out more about this unmissable event.
Thank you all so much for continuing to enjoy playing golf here in the wonderful surroundings of Richmond Park Golf Course. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions to how we can make your experience even more enjoyable – click here and drop us a line.
See you on the fairways soon.
