A new life-saving defibrillator has been installed at one of London’s most popular leisure destinations.
The £1,400 AED (automated external defibrillator) is designed to treat someone who who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Using an AED before emergency services arrive can double the chances of survival.
Jon Dummett, General Manager for Richmond Park Golf Course explains: “We have lots of people of all ages who come to Richmond Park to enjoy our golf courses. While we hope to never have to use the AED, it’s reassuring to know that this device will help save lives in an emergency.”
The AED is installed in the main entrance of the clubhouse (located just off the A3), which is fully accessible by the public.
Richmond Park Golf Course is operated by Lex Leisure, a community interest company that promotes health and wellbeing for all. The company has recently installed AEDs at all its golf venues around the UK.
