Seniors section newsletter – March 2019
Spring is blossoming with great displays of daffodils and crocus so we can all look forward to a new
season of golf.
After our Annual General meeting we will miss Jack Snape who has been Hon. Treasurer over the last 15 years and we made him an Honorary Life Member and wish him well. In his place we welcome Richard Jameson. Terry O’Sullivan retains the Captain’s role and at the AGM . . . .
“He thanked his Vice-captain Gordon Harrison and all the members for their positive support. He also thanked John our Green Keeper and his staff for all the work done on the course, he complimented them on the condition of the course and the major improvement on the clearing that had been done”.
Indeed, our course is in good shape and in its best condition for many years, so we have a good base for a season of golf to look forward to. That is not the case elsewhere; Foxbridge GC and Hassocks GC are no longer but fortunately we have found new opponents for our Inter-club matches.
Our two new challenges are Brighton & Hove GC (first match will be at home on 23 May) and Horne Park GC who visit us on 10 April as noted below.
For most of us it is time to renew our membership and Glendale have sent out membership renewals, so look in your mail box. When you renew your membership with them, don’t forget to fill in a Seniors Membership form; otherwise as in the case of casual membership you will have pay a Seniors subscription fee directly to the Treasurer.
