As we swing into the summer of 2025, golfers everywhere are wondering: what’s the smartest way to enjoy my golf this year?

Golf Course Update

Course Conditions Flourish as Key Upgrades Approach

A vibrant and thriving course awaits you, with our greens showing excellent signs of recovery and playing exceptionally well. We are committed to continuous improvement to ensure the best possible playing experience for all our members and guests.

We are excited to share some important updates regarding upcoming works and recent adjustments on the course. Our goal is to maintain transparency and keep you informed of the developments designed to enhance your time at the club.

Investing in Our Future: Irrigation System Overhaul

To further improve the current condition of the course, we will be undertaking a significant and proactive upgrade to our irrigation system. This planned work will involve a complete replacement of the system’s electrical components.

This essential investment will address the previous intermittent issues we have experienced, ensuring a more reliable and efficient watering program for our greens and fairways. The result will be a consistently healthier and more resilient course, better equipped to handle all weather conditions. We anticipate this project will have minimal disruption to play and will ultimately lead to a superior playing surface for years to come.

A New Challenge on the 12th Hole

You may have noticed a recent change to the layout of the 12th hole. Following a recent design assessment the tee box has been relocated. This adjustment has transformed the hole into a more interesting dogleg par 4.

We are pleased to report that this new layout has been received positively, offering a fresh and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities. The hole now rewards thoughtful shot placement and presents a new perspective.

This modification is being monitored before we progress to constructing a permanent grass tee platform. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we evaluate its long-term suitability. Your feedback is, as always, highly valued.

Tee Up for the Castle Point Community Golf Challenge!

Get ready to swing into action! The Castle Point Community Golf Challenge is back and set to take place on Tuesday, July 29th. We’re excited to extend a warm invitation to all local businesses and sports teams to join us for a fantastic day of golf, networking, and community spirit.

This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase your team’s skills on the green, enjoy some friendly competition, and connect with other local organisations. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just love the game, it’s all about having fun and supporting our local community. The event includes:

Welcoming Peter Connelly to Our Greenkeeping Team!

We’re delighted to introduce the newest member of our dedicated greenkeeping team, Peter Connelly! Peter joined us in May and has already proven to be a fantastic addition, helping to maintain the high standards of our beautiful course.

Peter takes over from Mark, who recently moved on to a different line of work. We want to extend our sincere thanks to Mark for his hard work and commitment during his time with us and wish him all the very best in his new ventures.
