Tilgate Golf Course Improvements Phase 2

Phase 2 of the sustainable timber harvesting & thinning operations will shortly be commencing in the woodland surrounding the Golf Centre.

Phase 1 has made a massive difference to the course over the autumn and winter months, even with the heavy rainfall from last week's storm Angus we are on full tees, greens and we have electric golf carts available to use.

Tilgate Seniors November Newsletter

The autumn weather has been kind to us and the trees have held their leaves to give a colouful with even more fascinating views of our forest course. Indeed the course is in good condition in readiness for the winter albeit falling leaves may be a problem for a while on some holes. So it is even more important to keep the ball on the fairway especially as the leaves are being blown into the woodland. Some members do it regularly, as demonstrated in the Scotsman Trophy when Steve Blake registered a winning score of 44 points.

Tilgate Seniors Section Newsletter - October

Again it is with pleasure to record that we have been blessed with good weather for playing golf, particularly in our home games and in fixtures at club matches on away courses. Also it is good to continually report that our course keeps in good shape and even more so as the “FootGolf” was a one-off. The “FootGolf” holes have been filled in, the course has been returned back to normal and work will soon start on chipping back the brush wood at the side of fairways. I hope the weather is kind to us over the coming months so we can get a lot of good golf under our belts on our picturesque course.
