Updated 3rd November 2020
Following the Prime Minister’s statement on 31st October, all Glendale Golf Centres will fully close from Thursday 5th November until 2nd December in accordance with the latest lockdown measures.
We understand you may be concerned about what this means for your membership, prepaid tee time or golf lesson. As a valued member of our Glendale Golf community we want to provide you with the following reassurances:
We will email all customers that have prepaid for a tee time after 5th November. A credit will be applied to all prepaid tee time bookings between 5th November and 2nd December and you’ll be able to reschedule your booking for any available tee time after 3rd December (within the same price band), subject to lockdown extensions. Instructions on how to do this will be included in the email.
Your annual membership will be suspended from 5th November and will automatically resume when the Golf Centres reopen on 3rd December. You won’t need to take any further action, so please don’t cancel your Direct Debit as unavoidable charges may be incurred.
If you pay annually, we’ll add another month to your membership when we reopen, to make up for the month lost in November. If you pay by Direct Debit, you won’t pay anything in December (to take into account that your November payment will have been debited on 1st November) and monthly payments will resume again from January.
If you have recently joined on the Rest of the Year for Free package, we will add another month to your membership when we reopen.
‘No contract’ Loyaltee 1 Month memberships will be suspended from 5th November and automatically reinstated for the remainder of December when the Golf Centres reopen. You won’t pay anything in December (to take into account that your November payment was debited on 1st November prior to the lockdown announcement) and monthly payments will resume again from January.
Any lessons or courses that have been booked/paid for in advance will be rescheduled when the Golf Centres reopen on 3rd December. Your golf coach will be in touch to arrange this.
Regretfully we are unable to offer refunds for prebooked lessons or tee times, however as mentioned above we will reschedule your tee time to another day to suit you.
Our clubhouses and offices will be closed throughout lockdown, in line with Government guidance. We will be monitoring emails so if you have an urgent enquiry please use the contact form opposite. Please note that due to limited staffing levels during lockdown it may take up to 5 working days to respond.
To ensure the golf courses will be in optimum condition when we reopen, we will continue to carry out essential maintenance and winter programmes throughout lockdown, with strict COVID secure safety measures in place for our maintenance personnel. Clubhouses and golf courses will be continually monitored for safety and security reasons.
Similar to when we reopened after the first lockdown, we’re expecting a high level of demand for golf when we return in December. With far less daylight hours compared to the summer, they’ll be limited availabilty so we ask our community of golfers to be considerate of this, to make it fair for everyone.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout 2020. Since we reopened in May, we’ve seen thousands of new and returning golfers making the most of the mental and physical health benefits of our sport. We’re proud to have suppported our local communities and proved that golf can offer a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone, despite the obvious challenges we’ve all had to face this year.
We’ll keep you updated via emails, our website and social media channels over the next few weeks and we look forward to welcoming you back to the fairways in December. In the meantime, stay safe and look after one another.
