Duxbury Park has always been a popular family desination and the arrival of a new mini golf course and adventure play area promises even more excitement. Modelled on the town’s links to a historic voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, a new 12-hole adventure golf course is due to open in February 2022.
In 1620, Chorley military veteran Myles Standish accompanied Pilgrims on the Mayflower ship to what is modern-day Massachusetts on the eastern coast of the United States.
An illustration of the miniature golf site prepared by Evolve Architectural Design Ltd shows a recreation of the Mayflower surrounded by a moat of ankle deep water, with the holes themselves situated on the other side of the moat. The development enhances Chorley’s Green Belt area and meets the council’s aims to encourage and support recreational activities.
