Course Blog

March 2022

It finally looks like spring is upon us! This week we have managed to carry out a significant amount of course maintenance for the first time in a while. The sun and strong winds have dried out both courses nicely allowing us to get the first cut of the year on the Par 3 Course which has come up very nicely. All bunkers have also been edged and raked ready for you all to take advantage of the better golfing weather.

The Main Course and putting green have been hollow cored, seeded and sanded this week, we will be doing the same to the Par 3 Course next week as well. As always I understand the frustration of the putting surfaces not being the best after we hollow core, however I assure you that the long term benefits outweigh the short term sacrifice so please bear with us whilst the greens recover.

As many of you are aware we also had 5 of the Main Course tee boxes laser levelled and re turfed in February. We are conscious not to rush the opening of these tee boxes as they need the appropriate time to bed in properly. We are aiming to open them Monday 28th March.

Finally, due to the weather conditions improving, you will be glad to hear we have made the decision to lift the trolley ban on the Main Course! I want to thank you for your patience with the trolley bans and the course opening and closing throughout the winter months. It has been a testing couple of months weather wise but hopefully we are past the worst of it now (famous last words!).

I look forward to seeing you on the fairways soon.
