Eventually… January is over at last.
The Christmas fizz soon turns flat, only to be replaced by subzero temperatures and what seemed like an age until payday.
But we’re so over that. It’s now February and there’s a hint of spring in the air. Squint hard enough and you can just about make out the golf season on the horizon.
Here’s five things that every golfer should look be looking forward to right now:
1. Lighter evenings
Lighter evenings are on the way. Fact. You’ll soon be able to sneak out for a few holes after work. In just a few weeks it’ll be much warmer and we can look foward to firmer fairways.
2. The Masters is around the corner. Amen.
Nothing shouts out ‘the golf season has loaded’ more than the Masters. The first Major of the year tees off at Augusta this April and we reckon it’ll be an epic one. While the PGA Tour has banished some of the world’s best, Augusta is extending its luv to LIV and permitting the likes of Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau.
The Masters announced Tuesday that any golfer who has qualified for the tournament based on its previous criteria will be invited to play in the 2023 tournament.
At least 15 players currently on the LIV Tour will be part of the field at Augusta National. https://t.co/LZrogZLlmb

3. Full Swing
The TV show that golf fans have been waiting for drops this month on Netflix. Ian Poulter teases “You picked a hell of a year to start following the PGA Tour” and we think he’s right.
Full Swing is an exciting behind-the-scenes documentary about the tour and its top players. We’ll be celebrating with some very special golfing deals of our own, as we countdown to the February 15th release date. Stay tuned.
4. New equipment
After an early release of 2023’s new clubs was announced in January, a second wave from Taylormade, Srixon, Titleist and more has flooded the market.
If you haven’t upgraded your kit for some time, 2023 is the year to do it. And who would have thought ‘Fargiveness’ would become a thing. What’s not to love about Tiger and Rory in full cheese mode.
5. New golf course
An exciting new 18-hole links golf course and Toptracer® Range is coming to London this summer. London Airlinks Golf Course is opening in May, following a £multi-million investment by Glendale Golf.
Be the first to tee it up. Take a virtual tour now, powered by PGA Tour®2K21.
So there we have it. There has never been a more exciting time in the game and soon everyone will be talking and playing golf. Can you think of more reasons?
