Why play golf?

Why play golf?

Are you ready to fall in love with golf (again)?

Downpours, soggy fairways and not-so-temporary temporary greens means it’s been a rough ride for golfers in recent months. But it’s time to leave the winter blues behind and look forward to an exciting summer of golf at London Airlinks Golf Course.

Here are 3 reasons to fall in love with golf as we head towards warmer (and dryer) times:

1

Golf boosts your wellbeing

According to the NHS, there are some important things we can do to improve our physical and mental wellbeing.

Golf can help you feel more positive and able to get the most out of life, by helping you to:

  • Connect with others. Golf is really sociable, whether you’re out on the course, learning on the driving range or chilling in the clubhouse. But if you’re also craving some ‘you’ time, there’s something very peaceful about hitting the fairways on your own, surrounded by nature.
  • Be physically active. Want to boost your step count and burn off a ton of calories? Golfers walk about 5 miles during a round of golf (even more if you spend lots of time in the rough!). According to the R&A, those who play golf live five years longer than non-golfers and reduce thier risk of anxiety, depression and dementia.
  • Learn new skills. Those that already play golf know that you never stop learning. It’s one of the things that makes it so addictive. From making a birdie to splitting a fairway with your tee shot – that amazing feeling of improving never fades.

2

It's not as expensive as you might think

Many people think that it’s expensive to take up golf. But did you know you that our GoGolfing™ beginner lessons are only £20 per person? And there’s nothing more to pay – clubs & balls are included!

The driving range is the best place to start, with a bucket of 50 balls costing just £6 on our fab new Toptracer® Range. You can even get your first bucket for free, until 31 May 2024.

Once you learned the basics, you’ll be ready to take your new skills onto the course. Pay & play rounds start at £20 – that works out at just £5 per hour for the time it takes to play 18 holes.

When you find that you want to play more regularly (and we guarantee you will) then you can enjoy unlimited golf from £95 per month. If you play just twice a week, you’ll save well over £100 a month.

Golf really is for everyone

There is a common misconception that golf attracts a certain type of person. That’s simply not the case anymore.

Brands such as Glendale Golf and Get Golfing have made it their mission to tackle golf’s image problem, and it’s working.

Thanks to our WINning Formula, we’re helping more people to try, learn & love golf.

The sport is more inclusive, diverse and affordable than ever. What’s more, our flexible Loyaltee™ plans mean golfers can enjoy unlimited golf without committing to annual membership.

Events like our sellout Loyaltee™ Opens are also shaking up the traditional approach to golf tournaments. An official club handicap isn’t required and the emphasis is on having fun, meeting new friends and enjoying true spirit of competition. They are truly open events!

We’re excited to be changing the future of golf. For good.
